Contract Manufacturing
Upon request, MicroBiopharm Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MBJ") can offer contract fermentation manufacturing at several volumes, from laboratory scale to commercial scale. Strain improvement, process development, and scale-up work can be offered as additional service to contract fermentation manufacturing. In addition to fermentation and the production of target compounds by microbial bioconversion, MBJ also offers contract manufacturing of protein with microbial as host.

In recombinant protein and plasmid production using a microorganism as a host, MBJ can provide the service from cell bank preparation to GMP production.

Fermentation Manufacturing / Bioconversion
MBJ can produce target compounds by the reaction of enzymes in microorganisms. MBJ also can modify enzymes to improve reactivity and reduce by-products.
In some cases, bioconversion can produce target compounds by one pot whereas chemical synthesis generate same via multiple steps (e.g., Calcitriol). MBJ has been focusing on enzyme's regio-stereoselective hydroxylation; through the years of study, MBJ has built an enzyme library for P450 monooxygenases, for various contract manufacturing case that requires hydroxylation.
